Eagle Fishmark320/480 vs. Lowrance X96

If you had to choose one, which would it be?

I'm leaning towards the X96 just because of the name.  But the price on the Fishmark320 is almost too good to pass up.

Somebody can correct me if I am wrong,  ... but the X96 and the 320 are the EXACT same.  Lowrance owns Eagle.

They look exactly the same.  I downloaded the emulators for both (well, the Lowrance X97 since they didn't have the X96 on the site) and they seem quite similar.

After playing around with the emulators for a while, I really like the 320.  Like the price too.

Eagle is Lowrances Price point leader.  They're models are usually similar with occasional differences.

I just bought an Eagle 500C after looking closely at a Lowrance 332C (basically the same things).   The major differences were the higher resolution, power, and compatibility that the Lowrance offered.  I talked to a tech from Eagle/Lowrance and was told that for fishing in mostly shallow water that the difference in resolution and power wouldn't make much of a difference.

You might want to call and talk to a tech (just be prepared to hold - I was on hold for almost 40 minutes).

Decided on the Eagle 320.  Should be here today.  Hope I'll be able to get it mounted before Saturday.  Mounting the 320 on the TM and going to mount my PMax10 at the console once I get a mounting bracket from Humminbird next week.

I was looking at the 480 Fishmark but at the last minute got the 320 instead.  Only difference I can see is 320 pixel vs 480 pixel, not worth the extra $50 to me.  Both have 16 level gray scale and everything else is the same.  It was an easy install and I'm putting my old X47 unit on the trolling motor today.

I bought a Eagle Fishmark 320 at the begining this year.  Best thing i've purchased all year.  Really works well.  You should have no problems with it.  Shows a great picture.
