Got freaked out for a moment.
  2. Anyone else use these? I've had great luck getting unsnagged with them. They open up to accept your line then just jig them until they knock your lure loose. Only drawback is if you break the line off you lose the Knocker so carry a few extra.
  3. Trolling with a 3-way makes a lot more sense. That's why I defaulted to a pegged bullet weight for casting.
  4. Outstanding video, thanks Glen and thanks for the repost.
  5. I am but not too successfully. That's why I eliminated the 3-way swivel approach. It's more of a lob cast so distance is affected. How do you present this combination?
  6. Thanks Glen, perfect timing for this article. I took notes.
  7. I just assumed keep it level was imperative, now you have me questioning that assumption.
  8. Sounded like a great idea so I tried in a swimming pool. Tried with a bullet weight, pegged bullet weight, a bell sinker and a lindy weight. I assumed it would float level but near the bottom. Found that I could keep the nose down but the tail end floated up at a 45 degree angle. Tried suspend dots and wrapping some lead wire on the rear treble......nada. Tried several other lures but the only one that stayed level was a Lucky Craft jerkbait. So I gave up on the concept but at least experiment taught me something.
  9. I found some tires at a dealer that were 2+ years past the manufacturers date and asked for some with a fresher date. They were very cooperative and called around and found some that were only a few months old. Kudos to them. I replace mine every six years although it galls me to replace tires with most of the tread still intact.
  10. If I've got it opened up I install the entire kit, even if everything looks good.
  11. Timely video, thanks Glenn. I took notes.
  12. I just discovered Amazon Haul so your timing is just perfect.
  13. The solutions keep rolling in. Now I have 4 options, all better than my own. Thanks to everyone, it's great to be able to tap into the experiences of other fishermen.
  14. Several interesting suggestions, all of them seem better than my original concept. I like the suspend dots, seems like the slickest way to go but the Carolina/Rapala combo seems like a winner also. Thanks to everyone..It's great to have a site like this to learn.
  15. What do you think would happen if I put a bullet weight about a foot up the line held in place with a bobber stop and attached a jerk bait to the end? Would that keep it just above the bottom so I could jerk it at 20 feet deep or so or would it ruin the action? Might disturb the bottom too. Has anyone tried this?
