Lure retriever LocN'Knoc

Featured Replies

Anyone else use these? I've had great luck getting unsnagged with them. They open up to accept your line then just jig them until they knock your lure loose. Only drawback is if you break the line off you lose the Knocker so carry a few extra.

Have never seen them. Interesting.

I picked up a Frabill Telescoping Lure Retriever. It extends to 15 Feet.

Stores neatly behind Bimini top on floor of my Lund.

Was not cheap, but paid for itself quickly in saved lures.

@Glenn's video has some great advice if you don't have space to store a lure retriever.

FWIW, I was turned onto these by panfish fisherman for retrieving small lures and jigs.

I don't know if it has enough "oompf" to get out a bigger lure with big trebles.

Let me know how good it works. Instead of losing a ten dollar lure, I could be losing a ten dollar lure and three dollar lure retriever.

A heavy sinker on a cheap snap makes a good plug knocker for less than $1.

I carry one of these in my kayak where a typical telescoping lure retriever isn't practical. Stored, it's 18", fully extends to 16'. Not as rigid as a standard lure retriever, but it's a great compromise when space is limited. Would also work good for a johnboat angler or someone who just wants to put someone in a storage locker instead of having a regular lure retriever in the boat.

When i drop a spoon in a brush pile and bouncing it doesn't get it loose the knocker works more than 1/2 the time. Yes I've tried other methods.

I use this one from Jewel Bait Co. I have it on the end of some paracord that is on a marker bouey. I don't think it has ever failed me.
