For those of us who collect,and fish with the Ambassadeur 2500C's,here are the newest upgrades for your reels. Colors like these were only available for the 45-6500C Series reels,but now they're available for the little guys.

Are Ambassadeurs good for throwing heavier baits, or are they just a nice round reel that is used like most low profile reels? I want to target Pike a bit this year and am not sure about using an energy PT for it.

Ambassaduers are good for any type of fishing. There's a wide range of reels to chose for your specific fishing needs. I just prefer their small reels for BFS.

do they have any for the 1500c's?

I know he doesn't have any 1500C,or 2500C IAR. I'll give him a call and see if the 1500C's are going to be added. Goose52,you know I'm going to share this with all the Abuholics.

Wo, they look like dyed Easter eggs! Good stuff for the Abu gurus!

My 2500C's updated with new side plates. Goose52 no plans yet for the 1500C side plates. You can put a 1500C decal over the 2500C stamping if you want to.

I'm another Ambassadeur fan. Bought my first one when I got out of the Navy in 69. Gave two to my grandkids, still have 4 others that I still use. I've said this before, but I've been in boats with a lot of great fishermen. Some have had some very expensive rods & reels. None could do anything that I couldn't do with my Abu.

My set of red plates came in yesterday - they look great - as good as factory.  They will go on this 2500C that has already been tricked out with 11 bearings, cf handle, carbontex drag, and aluminum line guide...

 

It's going to look great with those plates!

Some nice looking pieces fellas! I'll admit, I don't care for Abu LP reels but these rounders I could get on board with!

Addictive little buggers.  I'm not into the larger Ambassadeurs but the 1500/1600/2500/2600C reels hold all the line you need for bass fishing and palm better (for me with medium-size hands) than the 4500/5000 size reels.

 

PLUS, for those that are into it, there are lots of gadgets and gizmos for these reels. The 2500C that will be getting those red sideplates was an eBay reel with a non-original broken handle. Some minor scratches on the sideplates but it looked new inside. A nice reel. BUT, throw all the below shown gadgets in it and it becomes an even nicer little machine...

 

 

And spools! I was able to get some dual bearing worm gears,and chrome frames from my friend in Sweden,. With Simon's involvement with these small reels look for some new goodies to be coming up in the near future

Finally got the new plates on the tricked out 2500C - classic red looks good !

 

Nice looking reel! So much better than the stock silver color.
