Featured Replies

Any one fish Cherokee in East Tn recently. Boat ramp 25E bridge. Went out there the other day and couldn't seem to catch em on anything. Anyone got any tips?

I wouldn't feel too bad...some big names couldn't crack the top 100 there last month.

Nope gotta boat. Had a tourney last weekend there from the dam and didn't get a bite. Having a hard time finding fish and what to throw right now. It look like the small mouth is what Cherokee is really producing right now

I have not fished it this year but clown colored suspending jerk baits around large rock typically produce this time of year if water temp is still in the 50's. At least that's where I would start. Cherokee can produce some big bags. You may want to add a few suspend dots to them also.

Thank you definetly will try it. How deep diver would you suggest. Or what brand?

I would try a Smithwick Rogue shallow running version with two or three dots. I'm sure others will catch fish but I have had success with that brand.

I was there a week or so ago, German Creek area, and didn't do too well myself. Two largemouth, one on a lipless crank, one on a spinnerbait, that was it. I tried a bunch of different lures, and fished a lot of different stuff too, just couldn't put anything together. FWIW, those two were pretty far back in the creek and on rock.

I'm guessing they're kind of in transition there now, but I'm sure things will be picking up there very soon though, if they haven't already.

Tightlining is still on at Cherokee from what I hear.
