Should I put my buddy on boat insurance policy?

Featured Replies

I will be be a new boat with in a year or two. I will also be getting ful coverege for my boat. Would it be smart to put my buddys name on the policy? Me and him do a lot of umf type of fishing in his boat. So when I get my boat we will keep doing that. He has driven his dads speed boat that gos 80+ many times and drives his own lund real good. He has a clean driving record with boat and car. But Will it cost extra to but his name on the policy and if it does how munch? So iam I smart to put his name on the policy?

I would be sure the check out the coverages, they may vary by company.  My policy (State Farm) is on the boat, not me, so any "legal" driver is covered while operating my boat.

My policy is with Progressive and it covers the boat, If you tell the insurance co. they will sell you what ever you want. I would just ask the question and get their answer.
