Got out again today although it wasn’t until about noon.

The light & variable winds looked & felt a lot more like a 15 Kt Easterly Cold slap in the face.   Either way it was tough sledding until about 4 pm when the winds let up.

After doing nothing with a tube & an assortment of jerkbaits, a rage bug on a little football head got me on the board.  After that I relocated & found a few smallies that were  finally interested in my jerkbait.  Bite only lasted about 30 minutes but I was glad to have it.

Weekend looks like a washout but I’m going to try and wedge in an early morning trip tomorrow before the deluge.

A-Jay give a blade bait a try if you know how to fish one. That water temp you mentioned is perfect for that. We were watching a guide fish out near us I'm certain they had a 100+ fish day. I don't own any but I need to get some.

Thanks - I have some & do fish them - with some results.  No 100 fish days though.  I'm a fan of the bait and usually do OK with them late season.   This lake has a very soft & weed covered bottom, not typically the right stuff for the blade.
