Power cord to battery?

Featured Replies

So I got the unit brand new at a pawn shop. Paid 100$. It's the first fish finder I've purchased and will be putting it on the sonar pod of my feel free lure 11.5.  I know I need a 12v battery. How do I hook this cord up to it?

Ok so just tape off the other two... that works. Thanks.  What's the best way to connect the wires to the battery terminals

Well assuming you have a Marine battery you can use a Ring terminal to connect them Pictured below.

If you just use a regular battery you could use universal marine battery terminal adapters to be able to use the ring terminal.

Get a crimping tool and waterproof connectors. Take the battery to a home improvement store, and they'll help you with gettinntr right stuff. You'll want to also get an inline fuse.

Awesome thanks any idea what there called?  And I can get them at my local hardware store.  Sorry I have no idea what I'm really doing here.

You can get these at any auto parts store or Lowes / Home Depot hardware stores. Its called a " Female Disconnect " You will also need a wire crimp tool to fasten to the wire. Might be a good idea to just bring your battery and wire harness with you.
