Walkill River, Montgomery New York (April 28,2017)

Featured Replies

So I have been having some luck this season, early in April I caught a 3.5 pound smallmouth and a few smaller bass.

Today...

First Fish, a 13 inch Bass, on a gold spoon.

Second and last fish that I landed today.  A 14 inch bass.  on a white grub jig.

Overall a fun trip.  The water is slightly more clear then usual and I have seen a lot of tiny bog turtles. The fish seem to be avoiding plastic worms or creature type bait.

What I have noticed is the fish seem to be hybrids.... they also are crazy aggressive.

These fish are small however much better luck then last year.  All fish were released quickly post photo and seemed unharmed.

It does.. which is why I stay on shore, avoid the water, and never eat any fish caught there.
