Rod for Spinnerbaits and Topwaters

Featured Replies

I'm thinking about picking up a shorter rod that could double for short casts with spinnerbaits in close quarters and walking topwater baits.  Anybody have experience with the new St. Croix Bass X 6'6" MHF, Dobyns Fury 663, or 664?

dobyns fury wins out of the two.

both are good rods.

use mono because it floats.

good luck

I've got a 703 and it's great for spinnerbait <1/2 and topwater baits. I have a tendency to like lighter powered rods, so my vote it for the 683.

Thanks for the recommendations!  Decided to go with the Fury 663.
