Minnesota Largemouth Lakes

Featured Replies

Was wondering if there's any serious largemouth minnesota guys out there that fish in the central region of the state. Looking for some lakes that hold decent quality (record producing) size fish. I practice catch and release only. I realize anyone with a honey hole doesn't normally come out and say which lake they have had the best luck with. I've fished a pretty heavy number of lakes up here and am now venturing towards the Walker Leech Lake area and as far south in Minnesota as Alexandria area. If theres anyone open to a more private discussion I'd appreciate that as well. Any help is appreciated. Thanks and good luck out there.

This is a great resource and here's the current thread for Minnesota lakes. A lot of guys will post updates on what lakes are hot, what they are biting on and so forth.

The Brainerd area is loaded with lakes that have great largemouth fishing...and no one fishes them for largemouth!  Everyone is chasing walleyes or panfish.  I suggest going to the DNR's website and using Lake Finder.  Each lake is updated with fish populations and some of them have a ridiculous bass count/hour.
