just wondering if anyone has any opinions about molded plastic jon boats. i have an opportunity to buy one and, having no experience with them, was curious what your opinion of them is. i am curious to their stability and how they ride in the water compared to an aluminum boat.

the one i am looking at is 12'. it includes a trolling motor, new battery, anchor, oars, life jackets, and has a trailer with new tires. it is like new and has only been in the water 4 times. both the boat and trailer are titled. asking price is $800.00.

A small boat for small water.

It will probably be heavier than aluminum which means you probably won't get blown around as much.

800.00 for boat and trailer would be a decent price if it is in good shape.

Stability will depend on how wide the bottom is. The wider the bottom , the better.

My buddy and I fished on his 12' Bass Tender for years and no one ever fell in the water  . I think thats a great price. He paid $3200 for his but he did get a gas engine. On his we were able to stand up but no moving around. Good luck.
