Tripod for camera on Boat??

Featured Replies

I'm have a digital camera and I'm looking for some type of tripod to hold so I can shoot pics and video while fishing. I fishing alone 95% of the time so I don't have anyone able to shoot pics and video for me. I have heard that there is a camera holder/tripod thing that you can put in your back seat post to hold the camera. I have searched the internet and have found nothing. Just wondering if you have heard of this or is there something better that you have suggest.

Thanks.

I just put the pedestal seat/post on the back deck and sit the camera on the seat. The pics come out good to the point my wife and close friends dont believe I was fishing alone. You can either setup the tripod on the empty back deck or even go buy a seat post and attach the tripod to it. You wouldnt have to worry about folding the tripod out since it would be anchored to the post...that pegs into the deck.

kb here    got mine at wallmart   works great  i think cost was about $25.00  i thought pretty cheap for what you get..   kb

Can't remember where I've seen them but someone makes a clamp-on unit specifically for cameras.  It would probably be pretty easy to fabricate one at home.  Pretty compact too.

If I'm alone, I just perch it on the spare seat, works perfectly.

If you want to mount it, a common fix is to take the footpad (plate mount that screws to camera) from the tri-pod and epoxy it to a spare seat pedestal post.
