How much braid on a Pflueger 6930 using mono?

Featured Replies

I'm looking to spool these up at work so I don't want to bring the whole rod/reel setup. Once I fully spool with mono, how much mono should I remove to replace with braid? 150yards?

And there is no clear indication when you have enough mono on is there? I know they say 1/8" from the edge but the edge is tapered.

Just curious on it

If you are using a mono backing with braid, you don't need much mono.  I use just enough that I can't see through the line to the spool.  The rest is braid.

True, but if like to save on the braid if possible. The bass I'm fishing won't require a full spool of braid, so hoping I can save some if possible

If you look at the long run the braid will be cheaper.  You can keep it on the reel much longer than the mono.
