Best middle of the road baitcaster ratio?
Whats a good middle of the road ratio for baitcaster? I plan on using it for Snakeheads here in Md, so they tend to be a bit heavier than the local bass. Im looking at Daiwa Fuego Ct in either 6 , 7 or 8 ratio. Just looking to get one for all around use. Thoughts?

Cheap as its not nothing I need sensitivity in, IMO. I have a few nice Avid-x for that. Cheaper the better IMO. Its more of a frog rod

Looks like the stocks of the Daiwa Aird-x are dried up. Is there another rod that can fill its shoes? Looking to get one for those Snakeheads around me, so I guess MH/F 6'6"-7"

Questions on Daiwa Fuego CT: Worth upgrading bearings?
Thanks. I plan on using some TSI-321 oil. Understood, but I plan on using it around salt. So I dont think it matters how much the reel is versus how long it will last. I know I can do some things to help it last but in the end I think the salt will win. The Fuego seems like it will hold up in terms of reeling the fish through the water. Its not like Im pulling a bass through weeds etc.

Questions on Daiwa Fuego CT: Worth upgrading bearings?
Question for the guys that have this reel and upgraded the bearings on it... Is it worth the upgrade? Is it worth the extra money for the bearings and so on... Curious. They;re very cheap now and seems like a no brainier. If they last say 4 or 5 years, thats money well spent.

How to set up the Tatula CT reel?
Im learning as I go, so I have no idea on what Im doing. So I have to thumb it on the water too? I thought I didnt have to.. If you watch this video, he doesnt thumb it when its in the water/hits the water. Just hit play,I have it set at the right time when he does it.

How to set up the Tatula CT reel?
Thanks. Now let me ask you this. Ive birds-nested another two times. Could this be from the lure stopping so fast in the grass, pretty much abruptly? I have the spool set to minimal side play with the thumb bar clicked down and the z force at 10.

How to set up the Tatula CT reel?
Thanks! thats it. Now I test casted a little bit and I did birds-nest twice. Once was because on a side arm cast the lure grabbed the grass and totally screwed up the process. The other one Im not sure if its a combination of the brakes are too high or low and or the tension knob isnt right. The lure drops slowly though. Ahh I guess the joys of baitcasting lol . Should I have my thumb over the spool at all, ever? Or is that not needed anymore on these newer reels?

How to set up the Tatula CT reel?
Thanks. Well what did I see about slight side to side play in the spool.? I can't remember what that was referring to

How to set up the Tatula CT reel?
This is my first baitcaster reel and I know nothing about them. I think I remember seeing someone saying that I need to adjust something to the spool moves side to side a little bit, but what was it? I cant remember. Also, what about drag, I know it varies but isnt is 2/3 your lines weight? Is there anything else you could tell me to help out someone new with baitcasters? Thanks!

New to baitcasters: What kind of line should I use?
Is there a chart on what to use for backing when using braid? Like I should use 12# mono for 20# braid etc.

New to baitcasters: What kind of line should I use?
Thanks. So what pound do you recommend for the frog rod?
-
New to baitcasters: What kind of line should I use?
So you recommend to not use braid even on the frog rod, or that would be alright for now since 50# is thicker ( although not that thick in the end ) than say a 15-20# braid

New to baitcasters: What kind of line should I use?
I have three reels that I want to setup and Im new to baitcasters. I think braid MIGHT be an expensive mistake, true? I have a rod that Im looking to throw frogs on only, and that one I might go with 50# braid. But the other two are going to be more used for moving treble hooked baits, like top waters and some buzzbaits etc. Should I go mono on them, if so what lb should I go with? Im going to use Big Game mono, not that it matters much. Thanks guys
