Hello-

 

I'm planning a camping/fishing trip to the delta this fall. I will be driving down from Washington with my canoe (electric motor powered) and am curious where I should consider camping. Ideally, I'd like to find one or two campgrounds that are secluded so I can relax and keep my rig in the water overnight to maximize my time on the water.  

 

Really pumped to check it out so any tips you have would be welcomed. Always enjoyed these forums and look forward to your suggestions.

Try Tiki Lagoon, King Island; these are closer to Stockton

south towards Tracy. Places like; Oasis Marina, Hammer Island 

In the northern area, try Walnut Grove area and Tower Park Resort

Bethel Island is in the heart of the delta, more populated and more stuff 

 

You must eat at Garlic brothers in Stockton in White Slough

 

have fun and make sure you buy all your licenses and tags

yes, the majority do have camping access. Go with tiki first. call them up and reserve ahead of time. 

Keep in mind the Delta has a tide so check the tables and amount of raise and fall.

Also check with local authorities about overnight camping and safety issues, their are some unsavory people around the Delta after dark.
