Catfish Creek State Park (Central Florida)

Featured Replies

I'm planning on a camping trip out to either Catfish Creek or Lake Kissimmee State Park. Has anyone fished either one of these areas? I don't have a boat so I will be bank fishing. I'm hoping Catfish creek lives up to its name and is loaded with Catfish.

I haven't made it to Lake Kissimmee yet, but I was told as a bank fisher, a good spot to check out is along State Road 60 Lake Kissimmee locks. When I travel 60, there is usually a couple people with lines in the water.

I know locks and spillways are a good location to hthe t when they are flowing. You can find the status of the locks and spillways on the SFWMD website.

Thanks for the info. Locks are usually pretty good for fishing because of the flowing water. There is a ton of water out there so I'm sure it shouldn't be to hard to find some spots. Just helps if someone can point you in the right direction.

I slay the catfish at the locks off 60. Never been to catfish creek but have done well bass fishing at Kissimmee state park.
