hey

ok im new to the hole bass fishing thing i caught a 5 pounder in march and now im hooked.  i fish in a small man made pond it is 5 feet deep in the middle and shallower as you get closer to the bank ive had some luck with top water lures and worms in the evening at night and on cloudy days but on hot sunny days i have no idea what kind of bait to use

any advice?

I love using top waters right when the sun starts to go down till dark.

Before that I use Senkos (Go to your store and get some Gary Yamamoto Senkos), Start with 5in and then you could also try 6in.

Stick an octopus hook or something of the same shape through the middle of the worm. When you cast it, watch your line for any irregular twitches or if you feel any taps. 90% of the fish I catch doing this, are on the cast while it falls for the first time.

You can also Trig the worm...

Other things you can try are Rat-L-traps, Spinnerbaits, Buzzbaits (again top water fun!).

It's very effective, and pretty easy to do. It has produced the most fish for me the past few months.
