reading graph

Featured Replies

Hello,

Can you please offer some tips on reading the graph?  What will weed beds look like on the graph?  When I see "stuff" in the middle of the screen, what does that mean?

Sorry for the dumb questions, but I am definitely a newbie using a graph.

thanks

Larry

The grass will generally show up as a soft(er) gray line and sometimes vertically if it's sparse. WIDE gray lines, or dark gray lines indicate a harder bottom. Remember that what's to the RIGHT of the screen is NEW, and the left is OLD. The finders read right to left. Turn the fish id off, turn the sensitivity up, etc.

This is the best DVD for sonar I've watched!

I learned ALOT from that DVD.

The stuff in the middle could be bait fish, bubbles, etc. What depth finder are you using? Did YOU put the transducer on, or a marine place? etc. If the transducer is in a bad place, it will greatly affect the read out.

Get that DVD, I promise.
