Anyone know anything about......

Fisher or spectrum boats? I guess Fisher bought spectrum? Anyone know anything about these boats? Any good?

Spectrum was low end, entry level junk.

Fisher was actually an aluminum boat builder for many, many years, built some good stuff.  I don't recall the whole story but Fisher started making fiberglass then Tracker marine bought them.  Of the few people I've heard of that own the Fisher fiberglass boats, I haven't heard any complaints but then again, not many of those were sold either.

I was just wondering. I'm in the market for a boat and I found a 1996 spectrum and I can get it for a good deal and it has everything but what you just said scares me. :-[

I have 2 friends that have spectrums. One is a 1996 17 foot avenger (deep V) with a 115 merc on it. he loves it has had no problems with it. Its a nice boat. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but a nice boat. I would not call it junk.

My other friend has a 1987 Spectrum 16 foot Deep V with a 50 force outboard on it. That boat is junk. Somewhere in the early 90's spectrum was sold and the newer boats are nice.

The one I'm looking at is a '96 and has front and rear casting decks and livewell. I just never heard of them before.
