I've been using some bps stik-os and noticed when I slowly bring them in after the initial fall ...they slowly spin. I've tried moving  the hook all along the bait but can't get it to stay horizontal. Any ideas?

What kind of hook are you using?

If you normally fish this way with braid only maybe a bit more diligence is needed to get the bait straight.

 

If I am using a leader off a braid main line I have been known to use a ball bearing swivel to connect the leader to the main line. It's out of sight to the have and solves any spin and twist issues.

When wacky rigging stick baits, I always use a 2' leader tied to a swivel and then tied to 2 more feet of leader. Then that is tied to the main line. Some folks don't like using that many knots. But it's never been a problem for me. That way you just don't have to worry about spin.

I was using a 2/0 mustad kvd double wide dropshot hook snelled to a 3ft 8lb fluorocarbon leader tied to 10lb braid...no swivel

Try not snelled??

Have you reeled in wacky rigged baits that did not spin

at all?

 

I see some spin, and do not worry too much about it. The

bait is rigged horizontally, pulling it through the water will

result in some movement given the imperfect nature of 

Stik-Os (which I use a lot of).

 

And I have snelled Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap and Gammy

Split/Drop hooks (don't now since I mostly tie weedless).

 

The point with wacky is the fall, not the reeling in, though 

you can often get bit on the reel-in. You cast it, let it fall

and do it's shimmy, then reel, let it fall, rinse and repeat

until you're out of the strike zone... My .02.
