How is a round head jig like a booyah pigskin supposed to be used? Like a football jig?

A round or ball head was the first jig head design made popular by Doll Fly jigs and have been commercially availble over 75 years. Football haed are a sideways elongated ball head to help keep the hook point upright. 

As long as you keep some line tension on the jig the line tie keeps the hook point upright. The problem with both ball heads and football heads is accommodating a fiber style weed gaurd, early designs uses a wire weed gaurd. Round or ball heads are good in rocky areas with sparse cover.
