Hello I've never cleaned it out. And today when fishing it keeped running slow then jumpy like almost on and off motion. Then completely would not turn so I thought battery's dead. I got home and took it off (for the first time) took tons of line out of it. It still won't move now did I burn out the motor?

Jumpy could mean brushes 

 

There is so much black stuff on everything this can't be right can it? It's like water/oil everywhere

IV never had mine apart so I don't know what it's supposed to look like.  That could be normal.  Does it turn now that you removed the line from it? And by line I assume you mean there was fishing line wrapped in the prop shaft?  You might contact Minn Kota with your pics.  They may at least be able to confirm what the black stuff is and if it's supposed to be there.

I can't see the photo on my cellphone, but when I saw it, before, it looked to me like you had water intrusion into the motor. That can't be good.
