Dynatrack

Featured Replies

Found a 95 18 foot dynatrack with a 150 yamaha. I had heard of ebbtide on speedboats and cruisers but I guess they made bassboats for awhile in the 90s. Any opinion good or bad?

I know a couple of guys that own DynaTraks and they seem to be good boats. I would be careful though because they to my knowledge the company no longer exists. I bought a used Ranger for $4,000 and I love it. Nothing out performs an old Ranger!!!

Ebbtide was building bassboats in the early 70's.  The Dynatrac moniker came from their V hull design.. I have no idea what happened to the company.  Not a really popular bassboat builder but I don't believe it had anything to do with the quality of their boats.  The fact they're out of business really is of no consequence, the boat itself could be worked on by any fiberglass shop and the motor as well.  As for specific hardware for that boat?  Even if Ebbtide was still around they probably wouldn't carry anything model specific for that old of a boat.

Had an early 90's dyna trak back when in college, toted the family around in it for a couple of years, it was a great boat and for the money I dont think you could probably get a better riding boat. Mine had a 150 johnson, and wouldnt win any races, but it had a great rough water ride.

I have an '86 Dynatrak 180.  Haven't owned it long, but have been very satisfied with it.  I've only got a Merc 135 and it seems to push it along nicely.  As for the rough water ride, I'm impressed.  I took it out 2 weeks ago with a 20 mph breeze and whitecaps and it sliced through them, no problem.  I did have my 250# brother in law up front though :).....Anyhow, they really seem like a well built boat to me and I can't wait to get it out again.  Plenty of storage and well balanced.  As you know opinions vary widely and people tend to stand by their brands.  I just wish Ebbtide still produced the pro bass style boats.  As far as I can tell, their website shows only Euro and Family style cruisers in production today.

All your pumps and switches and hardware will all be just catalog stuff TC Marine proably.

Very few (Ranger) only parts so just fined a dealer that will order out of these catalogs.
