NFC DS 61071 IM Blank?

Anyone here build on the 6'10 mag light IM drop shot blank? Thoughts or feedback whether it be good or bad?

Have one on the way for a custom build that I am going to use for a finesse casting rod winter project.

I have one built as spinning.  I feel it's not powerful enough.  Every 14" smallie feels like a 5# fish.  It is fun when you do hook up with a 5#er though!

Thanks for the feedbackB). I bought one when they ran a 50% off sale. Other than fishing perhaps a bit lighter than you like do you feel they are good performers?

Is what I am hearing about NFC, that their powers are lighter than labeled, true?

It's a good performer, I'd just like it better as a med-light, rather than mag-lite

Really depends on the tackle weight and size you like to fish, I built some casting rods on the Mag Lt weight blanks G Loomis developed back in the early 80's with the same power and line weight of your blank. A 5 ft 10 inch version, the blank was the SJ700. Fished one of the Edge rods I think on your blank, the tip was not as fast as the SJ700 were, but only by a small bit, but the backbone seemed to still be there.

One of the favorite blanks/rods of the trick caster Stan Fagerstrom, I used it for many years than sold it to a gentleman who retired to a house on the edge of a golf course and he fished the course's lakes for largemouth with it, last I heard 8+ lb. fish was his biggest, I caught smallmouth to 6+ on it, and it was a fantastic deep water crappy rod also.

Get Bit has that blank and 150+ more styles for 60% off. If you like the G Loomis IMX rods, you'll get similar results with the NFC IM. G Loomis makes a dropshot with same length, same power. I haven't looked at all the NFC blanks to compare, but some of the more classic G Loomis IMX blanks have the same exact dimensions as the comparable NFC blanks.

A day late and a dollar short. Oh well, the blank was ordered prior to the sale you posted as I had checked their prior to ordering directly from NFC when they had their 50% off sale.

I have used a few Kistler rods that are built the IM blanks and it seems like they fish a bit better than the original IMX series so I should be pretty happy overall I would think.
