How much is it to buy/install a jack plate roughly for a 150 hp mec? 

Sorry for the basic question just hoping some one has  experience this

eBay and Craigslist will be your best bet as far as price for the actual Jack plate. I purchased my CMC power lift new on eBay for $700 shipped a couple weeks ago. I install mine myself but my local Marine shop charges about 1 1/2 - 2 hr labor to install a hydraulic plate ($85 per hr). 

depends on what you want. manual or hydraulic? big difference in price. what size? they come in 4-12". what boat? most tin boats will void the warranty if you add a jp. Ranger will add one only from the factory.

I just had a Z-Lock manual jack plate installed with one universal Talon bracket at a shop here in MW MO. The final bill was around $850 installed and I purchased everything from the installer.

The other option you might want to consider if you are looking for a plate with no shake or rattle is SeaStar Jackplate.
