I have a rod needing a reel.

 

Are these the same size as the CT Type R's? 

 

The rod is a MH but would I be wrong thinking to swap reels and put it on my M rod that I use to cast shaky heads and lighter baits to get the most out of the SV spool?

The spool will not hold as much on the SV , the reels are the same size I believe, however I do not own a type R

Not too worried about line capacity as I use braid with fluoro leaders and don't use a lot of braid.

I have 17lb mono one one of my SVs and it still holds more than enough line. The SV spool can cast lighter lures well too so it might make sense to put it on your medium rod, but if you put it on the medium heavy it will work just fine as well.

 

I normally use spinning gear for shaky heads though.

It's the same chassis..but the SV is great. I have two, love em both.
