MinnKota Maxxum 101 problem

Featured Replies

I got my TM put back together after having the shaft replaced.  I dont know if I wired it back up wrong or what but it only runs at one speed.  The dial does not adjust the speed and it doesnt easy on/off like it's supposed to.  Yes I have the switch in the correct on position.  The speed adjusted correctly out of the blue for a little bit but then went back to constant on.

Any clues?

Just to clarify it isnt "constant on".  Just constant speed when I hit the foot pedal.  Is this what you mean?

bshaner, I can't help you,BUT you can help me. I have the same TM (2005) I took the prop off of it the other day to get some fishing line out, and I noticed that it dosn't have any kind of sheer pin. It was just held on by the pressure of the hub nut. Is this the same as yours?

Yes there was no pin on mine either.  Just the washer and nut.

Yes constant speed. Had mine in last year for the same thing. Board  ($$$).

I got lucky.  Found an upgrade to the Maxxum 101.  1400.00 TM.  It's a 2005 but still brand new in the box with a 3 year warranty from date of purchase.  900.00.  Plus the guy will take my old one as a trade and drop the price even more.  I might just have him fix the old one and keep it as a spare if he can do it cheap.

I'm going to pick it up tomorrow.
