buying a boat

Featured Replies

I am going to be buying a 14 or 16 foot john boat and am not sure about a few things. I drive a 95 eagle talon all wheel drive turbo 4 cylinder that produces 220 hp and about the same for torque. The 14 foot john boat weighs 155 and i am trying to find out about the 16 and the trailers. Would my car be able to tow these? and if not i was going to buy a 76 cj5 jeep with a 4.2 liter which i'm sure can tow them. Also What horsepower engine should i buy for each boat?? I already have an electic motor and a fish finder and plan on carpeting the boat.

thanks

thanks alot, once i buy it next week i will post pics, also i need to get a tow hitch any ideas?

Wont be a problem. even after you finish the upgrades you Eagle will tow it. The towing capacity should be on the inside drivers door frame.

U-Haul sells and installs hitches for most vehicles. I have a 1448 with a 15 hp scoots me along fine, but I wish it was a 25.
