I'm happy to say that two careless shooters were finally caught in the killing of the HL fisherman.

All I’m going to say is I never fish by myself even though I look to be alone. That’s all I’m going to say about that,

Although no criminal charges were filed at this time it will go to a major civil trial.  The guy that brought the 45 out to the Holey Land was and is totally responsible for the use of the gun and where those bullets go after leaving the barrel.  If you want to own a gun, you have to be responsible for the damage caused by irresponsible use.  The owner should have been charged regardless of who fired the fatal shot.  It could have been any one of us that was killed!

Makes me sick we're not even safe while fishing anymore! Here behind my property there are tons of these illegal ranges. They all surround the ponds my son and I use to fish. It's gotten so bad i don't go anymore. FWC and the sheriff's office are useless in this area.

I often hear gunshots while fishing in the Glades or on Okeechobee.  It's already creepy enough. This will, next time I'm out there, remind me that the flying lead may be coming from illegal target shooting behind the tall grass I'm flipping. I might be interested in purchasing a Kevlar lined PFD!

I hope the lawsuit against the shooters will lead the authorities to crack down on the phoney ranges.
