Tracker 175TX

Featured Replies

I borrowed my father-inlaws 2005 tracker 175TX this weekend. Having trouble with my boat and need a boat for a club tournament. The 175 TX is a nice boat, great for small Limited Lake. His only has a 25HP on in since his home lake is limited to 20hp (it has 20 stickers on it) There are a few things I don't like about it, but in all its a good fishing boat. One problem I found and was wondering if anybody has had the same problem and/or figured a fix for it.

The Live well, the divider is the issue. The fish kept knocking it out. Was not a problem this tournament, but might use it for some small lake draw tournaments. Is there a way to make the divider stay put, without making it permanent? I thought about gluing it, but he would like to be able to take it out. Any Ideas?

I have an older (1985) tournament tx 17 foot tracker with a 60 hp merc.  It has been a great boat!!  On the live well issue, I removed the divider completely, and use one of those cull master systems.  They use small floats on the fishes lip to cull them quickly by weight, and they also can identify yours from your partners.

Also allows the fish a bit of more room to move as opposed to the divided livewell!

LOL!!!

In ALL THIS TIME...traker STILL has not fixed this! I have an 1989 and it does the smae thing! drives me nuts!

Okay...does not seem like a real big deal I guess but my divider is metal and I had a fish at a tournament get stuck and cut darn near in half...it died of course and guees what...the death of that fish put me out of the money. I would have got 2nd and about $625 bucks if that fish would have been alive!

...so I ripped the divider out

The divider in this one is plastic. and with thousands of those boat sold you would think they could fix it right. That is why I hope someone might have a fix for it.

The culling system is what I was using anyway that is why it was not a problem, but I still would like the divider to do its job and work right

Same thing happened to me.

Who would have thought the fish were that powerful?

I do not have any solution but I have been thinking about it.

I thought about putting a piece of wood on hte sides to help keep it in place.

Or, glue weights onto the bottom of the white divider to keep it from moving.

When you figure it out PM me so I can give it a try, too.

And by the way, I have updated my ProTracker 185 with Lowrance electronics; circuit breakers replacing the fuses; a stainless steel prop; upgraded the trolling motor to a 24 volt, 67 thrust system which really moves the boat; and have installed a spare tire on the trailer.

And I just had the local boat shop use electric "glue" to keep the trolling motor wires together in the bow.

Isn't boating fun????

I saw this and had to reply. I have a '97 PT17 and had the same thing happen during a tournament. Partner wasn't to happy.

This is how I fixed it. I went to the Wally World and bought a plastic cutting board. Traced the outline of the old divider on it. Cut it out and drilled some holes in it. Its alot stiffer and works like a champ. Hasn't fallen out yet. Hope this helps

I thought of something else that happened with the live well. Bass hit the drain tube knocked it out and the live well drained. Not to good. Here's the fix for it. Bought a pvc T, I think its 3/4 inch. Turned the T sideways and glued it to the drain tube. This keeps it from overflowing. The added length allows

the lid of the well to keep pressure on it, holding it in place.

SEE NOW HERE IS A THINKING MAN!!!!

what a great idea!!!

much better than glue etc...which could leach toxins into the water...

gonna keep this one in the mental file in the same file with about 90% of everything waytooslow suggests!
