New Rods to the Arsenal

Featured Replies

So with the 20% off TW, going to add 2 - 3 rods. Need some moving bait rods as all i have are fast tapers. With Okuma TCS having a extra 10% off (30% total) i was going to get the 6'9" MH for jerkbaits and poppers and squarebills.  Then the 7' MH for medium diving cranks, rattletraps, spinnersbait/bladed jigs. Both mod/fast action. What you guys think?

Also looking for a 3/8 once jig rod, will also be used to flip in medium cover with no more than a 3/8-1/2 weight. Was looking at the 7'3" heavy TCS or i know alot of people like the IROD genesis lineup. Think the magic stick might be to much. What else if not those would you guys recommend for a bottom contact rod in this price range? Also do the IROD rods have micro guides?

Hard to beat the TCS rods for around $100 after discount but let me know what you guys think

Thanks!

Only Okuma rod I have used is the Helios.  I think Okuma doesn't get enough credit from the general public.  I also have a couple of their reels and like them a lot.  You can find some reviews of the TCS here.

Reviews I've read have been very good.  Thanks for pointing out they are 30% off.  May have to look into buying one myself.  :teeth:  I've also been considering a Zolo Deputy.  Maybe I should get both.  :laughing7:

EDIT:  Where do you see the extra 10% off from Okuma?  Never mind.  I found it.

The deputy is a great rod!

Ive used okuma tcs apc 7' for chatterbaits and it kicked butt but I sold it.

I like them a lot and Scott Martin uses them almost exclusively and won FLW with them

The 3 TCS rods you mentioned sound perfect! I don’t have first hand experience with those but it’s hard to go wrong with just about any modern $100+ rod honestly

I have a Zolo Deputy and would absolutely buy another. As stated, it's a great rod.
