  1. Keep in mind they also bought D&J Plastics, one of the largest soft plastics manufacturers in the US as part of this deal
  2. I'm looking forward to the larger spro popping frog ?
  3. Went smallie fishing for the first time last week. Spent a day and a half with my dad and Garrett Paquette on Lake St Clair and pretty much destroyed them. 12 hours total, around 70 smallmouth landed, 7 of which were over 4lbs! Sorry about the rotated pics, not sure how to fix on mobile. Frustrating
  4. I never have, but I went fishing with an elite series guy recently and he dabbed the loctite equivalent of super glue before pushing a swimbait all the way onto a jighead and it caught 30 smallmouth before needing to be replaced. I'm a believer now!!

My dad seems to have a talent for breaking off on fish, but this one was a first for me. He was fighting a big bass back to the boat, it broke off, and he reeled in expecting to see a broken knot or lost leader but instead pulled up half of a hook... Brand new out of the package, not some old rusty thin wire junk or anything like that. Have you ever seen or even heard of this?
  7. Wow, great prices on these, and I LOVE having the weight on there. Should become the industry standard!
  8. 1. It could be that they're just not eating it all the way, have you tried a different color? 2. Could be the setup. I personally have a great hookup & landing ratio on a 7'-7'2" MH with straight 15lb CXX. I've landed many 5+lb bass with this setup, even ripping it out of grass. 3. Could be the hookset. I often set the hook too quick and take it away from them. The copoly helps with this, but it's also a technique thing. Basically, once you feel it stop chattering or feel an obvious bite, reel down and sweep set hard.
  9. I don't, but I mainly use a craw style bait that retrieves pretty straight. I could see line twist becoming an issue if you were to use a fluke or other style baits that tend to twirl a bit more. Curious what others on here have found!
  10. That is correct. Can you post a pic of the issue? I'm not quite following based on your description
  11. I'd like to add - underwater dock lights can work wonders. Down here dock owners typically use green. Position your boat so you can cast past the light and try to keep your distance. If you're on the dock rather than in a boat, be extremely quiet. In my experience these fish are very spooky. Most of the big fish will hang out at the dark edges of the lights rather than right in the middle of the bright spot.
  12. What part of the lake, we aren't having much luck shallow on the south end. Caught a few nice ones in 6-8ft this evening
