Agreed... I like both reels, just something about the PQ in my hand that's feels more sturdy than the Carbonlite, if that makes sense. I also have a bit of play in the handle of the Carbonlite, but it's a year older than the PQ, and not uncommon across all reels regardless of brand. 

 

Honestly the BPS and JM reels remind me a lot of Lew's at a better price point. I got the Carbonlite 2.0 on sale for $99 and the PQ2 combo for $120... So I basically paid for the reel and got a rod for $20.

I guess to stay "on topic" I'll tie it in by saying the deal on the PQ was the 7.5:1 so I put it on a dofferent rod, but I do use the rod that I got with it for some cranking. It's a 7' M. The tip isnt ideal, but works just fine.

I've noticed most Dobyns cranking rods are rated fast for example although I gather they aren't quite as stiff as they are rated... then there's medium fast rods as well that a lot of people use for cranking rods.
