Fort Lee Airman lookin for fish and tackle

Featured Replies

I’m an Airman, doing some training here at Fort Lee. Iv been searching about the area and some local fishing spots where Me and my wingmen can throw out a line. None of us have our gear with us, does anyone know a place that may rent out a couple poles? Or will anyone in the area be willing to rent us some gear?

Try Dance's Sporting Goods by Southpark Mall and ask them where there are some good places to fish.

The Vulcan ponds are a good start. You will need a map to find them outside of Colonial Heights.

Ask the Dance people if they have the 2017 or 2018 Freshwater Fishing in Virginia free booklet that lists the place so you can fish in the greater three-cities/Prince George County areas.

For tackle, see what Dance's has and hit the Wal-Mart around the mall.

And ask Dance if the "pay to fish" place is still in business.

Right now the water is extremely cold in the central Virginia area and with snow hitting us this Wednesday I don't know if you would get a bite as the bass are going deep.

Good luck and thank you and your friend for your service.

Ohhhh...I remember the service days....had a eagle claw pack rod and a mitchel 300, some marabou jigs that traveled all over the west coast with me.  From southern California to Alaska.  Didn't take up much room in the ol duffel buried in the middle.
