I young boy caught a world record 9.9lb Java Barb  in a small, clear. fresh water lake in Palm City Florida.  The fish with its permit shaped body, small mouth, and large scales, was weighted, measured, and a picture taken.  It put up a hell of a fight before being released back into the lake.  The boy and his father had no idea of what type of fish he caught, but knew it was something special.  After investigating, it was apparent they had a world record fish.  The boy said, he knows where it lives, and is on a mission to catch it again.  When you fish in Florida anything is possible.  We have so many thriving exotics that everyday is an adventure.
