GPS PROBLEM: Have you had this problem?

Featured Replies

I have a Lowrance LCX 25C  gps/sonar unit.  Two days ago I get a message "GPS unit not responding".  Sonar works fine, but not gps.  Checked power to gps antenna......OK.  The strange thing is that the date and time (which originates from GPS) still displays accurately, but I'm getting no communication from any satellites.

I've tried everything I know to do.....next step is to call Lowrance.  Any of you had this problem or tell me what I might be able to try?  Any help appreciated................

I had the same problem a few years back and had to buy a new gps antenna.  At $200 for a new antenna it sucks, unfortunately Lowrance doesn't have the best track record with their antennas.

If your unit has the 2 red wires which are fused, maybe one of them has become disconnected or a fuse has gone bad.

If you still have issues, PM Alpster.  He knows this stuff inside and out, it's what he does for a living ;)
