Question. Both of the tagged mounts are extremely rigid, does anyone have concerns that they are so rigid that the shock is transferred to the unit? I understand that it's probably better than the unit swinging down and hitting the console or trolling motor pedal. I just wonder about the guts of the unit absorbing all that shock. 

If you didn't have the adjustable mount, the manufacturer intends you to attach the unit directly to the boat.
