Shelf Life of CoPoly (Gamma) Line?

Featured Replies

What is the expected shelf of CoPoly Line?

I've got a small stash of Gamma line (6, 10 & 12 lb) that probably ranges from 8 to 10 years old.  It has been in dark basements that range from 50 to 70 degrees.

Should I use it up or replenish it with new copoly to be on the safe side?

Thanks,

Leon

UV sunlight and high/low temps 32/105 degrees tend stress Nylon blend polymers, your line has been stored safely.

I had a bulk spool of Gamma that I kept in my basement for many years. It was fine.

I picked up a tip from somebody here to just keep it in a cooler, so now I keep all line in an old lunchbox size Coleman cooler in my garage.
