Anybody going out this weekend? Fishing, that is

Featured Replies

After 5-6 weeks of beautiful weather in the Northwest/Idaho area we are back to snow and temps in the teens to low 40's.  Snowed a bunch here, actually raining today.  Saturday has a high of 41 degrees.  Still thinking about going fishing, especially with the full moon tonight.  Maybe hit the Snake river, local ponds.  What about you guys in the Northwest?

In the Southwest it’s supposed to be 70 my son wants to go do we will head out in the afternoon good luck!

Tomorrow on an electric only lake that's shallower, with water temps probably close to 50 (I'm in Western Colorado). Then taking the bass boat out on Saturday to a bigger lake that's still colder, especially to adjust my new Helix 5.

How did the day go?! Were they still deep? What was the water temp?

Was tough, got seven with a couple two pounders, water temp 49 to 52 in the electric only lake in my 12' alumacraft. Lipless cranks and jerkbaits were the ticket, but spinnerbaits and jigs also got bit. Fish were outside spawning areas in grass and on deep grass edges in 8 to 15 feet of water. At the bigger lake in my bass boat, caught only three all day, with water temps 44 to 47. A wiggle wart caught one, jerkbaits caught the other two. All three fish were around 2 pounds. All fish were on a rip rap bank in 8 to 12 feet. Fish on the left was from the bigger lake, fish on the right, the smaller lake.

I’m in the same kayak as you out here in Massachusetts. I’ve been paddling open water since January but Mother Nature’s tossing one last week of winter at us.  Last time I was out water temps were 36.x - 38.x where I managed a nice 3-2 LMB and a couple pickerels.

I saw skim ice on a couple ponds while driving route 24 south.

I doubt I’ll be getting out this week/weekend. I figure another week and we’ll be free and clear.

NICE!!  I didn't have much luck this weekend for bass, caught trout though haha!  water in the mid-high 40's still.  It has been slowly warming up, I will hit up a lake this weekend nearby! water should be low 50's by then.
