Preferred line for skipping?

Featured Replies

Made my mind up I'm gonna learn to skip docks and overhangs come Hell or high water. Have a Kistler 6'9" mlh fast action with a Daiwa Tatula SV TWS and wanting line recommendations. Currently have pp ss8 in 50lb right now and absolutely can't stand the stuff. Love pp original but this ss isn't what I was hoping for. What you seasoned skippers use?

Not a seasoned skipper, but recently started skipping and found that line choice didn't affect the outcome. I am also using a tatula sv. I skip jigs with either 50lb daiwa j-braid x4 or 17lb sunline assassin.

I do recommend mono during learning curve, backlashes easier to fx.

Look at lots and lots of videos on skipping and you will learn that reel set up is most important and next is bait weight.
