7 Inch Fishfinder

Featured Replies

Just got a new tracker boat and I want to upgrade the little fish finder that came with it. Never used a fish finder before. I want it to be at least 7 inches and have DI and SI. Out of the Lowrance Hook 2 7 tripleshot, Elite 7 Ti, and 7 HDS what would you recommend for a first time user that wants  a product to work well and last for a long time? Also what are your thoughts on the Helix 7 and the garmen fish finders?

Thanks,

Alex.

I love my Garmin Echomap 73SV.  Works great and has built in maps  The imaging works great and has really clear pictures.

Being new to sonar my suggestion is use what you have as the console unit and select a 7" unit for the bow trolling motor position where you spend your time fishing.

Scanning units are good choices however tricky when trolling motor mounted, better as a console unit IMO. When you get more experience replace the 3X with a Elite 7 ti, prices are always going down as state of the art improves every year.

So should the  7” unit for the bow have DI or SI? Or does it not need it?

Thanks

HDI w/(troller motor) transducer is on sale. The Elite Ti combo unit with down scan transom transducer can be net worked at a later date, just depends on your budget and how you fish.

Lets see what other members suggest.
