I'm starting to think I need a rod for deep cranks. I would be throwing DD22, Dredgers etc... in 16-22 fow. Baits could go up to 1.5 to 2oz or so.

So do I want a composite rod? I'm thinking a long stick too; maybe 7-6 to 7-11 area.

And what could that same rod double as? Heavy glides? 130 Ploppers?

And I would not want micro-guides nor spend over $150.

I would be using a Revo S 6.4 

 

Thoughts?

Anyone have something they would want to part with?

The 7'5 mh crankshaft is a great rod as well that can handle up to 8xd style baits. And big spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and even a carolina rig when in a pinch.

Yes, spooks, whopper ploppers, and pompadours 

Although I don't fish those baits, I think it would work very well. It is a rod with a fast tip but a deep bend through the top 2/3 of the blank. So it's still a cranking rod, but has the added benefit of the nice tip. It excells at 1/2 to 2 ounces. 

I have a Lews David Fritts Perfect 9 ft rod.  It is Med heavy/ Moderate fast, and great for launching a 10 XD.  I bought it last summer and found that I don't enjoy throwing mega crankbaits as much as I thought I would.  

 

I'll sell it for $60 plus shipping if you're interested.  Other than a few scratches, it is in great condition, and only been taken out 5-6 trips. Also, if you want pictures just let me know.

Halo Deep Cranking Model, 7'11" MH. The I Rod's Fred's Crank launcher in the same size and action is also great.
