Length for rod leash for standing up on a kayak?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, do any of yall have any suggestions for length for a rod leash when standing up?  I'm seeing some I like that are 42 inches and can stretch, but I've read that I might need more length than that.  Have any of you tried shorter (36-42 inches) with success while standing up?

The rod leash goes on your wrist.  You can connect it to the boat when in the holder.

Ah, I did not consider that as an option - thank you for pointing that out!  I guess I just need to look for a wrist strap with a ring attached to it now :)
