Due to delivery issues my dad forced me to refund the Castaway invicta but i learned that i can buy jdm rods domestically for an fair price. And im currently in a dilema of what rod to get.

Here are my choices

1.Megabass orochi xx tour versatile

2.Deps sidewinder entry

3.Megabass orochi tripple x super orochi

4.Megabass orochi tripple x matt bucker type l

5.Megabass levante "japan limited" Extreme mission type f

6.Megabass Racing condition world edition 72H

7.Shimano JDM zodias 72H 2pc

8.Jackall Nero 72H

9.Megabass destroyer phase 3 power play f6-67x

Also i would like to pair it up with my battle worn FX68 viola and also get some tackle with the rod.

Any thoughts on what to get?

What are you using the rod for? The rods you listed are all nice, but some are better suited to certain applications than others

The tackle trap has the 2018 xx rods.  They come with a warranty from mb usa.  All the reviews I read on the xxx is they are below the xx in quality.  If you could find the old perfect pitch that rod had a cult following.  Is this a one time deal.  The slant bridge rods are around and are very special.  The destroyer would be my pick in your list great for close quarter pitching on a small vessle like a yak or canoe.  Might be a great shore option as well if you ever do that.

It seems the new xx rods and the jdm xxx are nearly identical except for the the fact that the individual models are geared towards the American market in the xx, and Japan in the xxx. I own an xxx and really like it, but I can understand the criticism as a lot of folks expected the new xx to have more of its own identity. These rods have been discussed extensively over in the tackle tour forums, as well as the others listed above. 

 

*Also, if you choose the Levante, I don't really see any reason to go with the japan limited one. Especially when you consider the US ones now run $169

Evergreen is unique jdm but your going to pay more.  The jackal poison series gets a lot of love.

I have never found much info about the non Megabass or Major Craft jdm brands, where can one even learn about the other companies?

There is a lot of jdm talk over on tackletour, but even then, info can be limited
