Megaforce plus by diawa

Can any one tell me anything about theses

I have a Megaforce. Not the plus version which I believe has more bearings.

Not much to say other than it’s an entry level Daiwa baitcaster with a gimmick. The gimmick being the twitching bar. It reels in about 7” of line with each press. Supposed to give the bait some action. The bar is made of cheap plastic and will probably break unless you are extra careful.

Decent reel IMO but I would look elsewhere as there are better reels at that price point

@NYWayfarer Just wondering I took two off a buddy for $40 in your opinion worth it or not? Mine are both the plus 7.1:1

2 for $40 is a great deal. Mine was $80 brand new.

Ok cool that’s what I was wondering. I’ve read that trying to fish to heavy of an application will eat this reel up is that your experience? I’m thinking I’ll use them with plastics and jigs up to 3/4 oz?

I have a friend with only one working arm. He uses those reels all the time. To watch him fish is impressive and inspirational.

Should be fine for that. I use mine for the same. Never caught anything with the “twitching” action though.

after awhile it became my drop shot baitcaster

That twitching bar can be used for walking the dog with a Spook or Sammy.
