bass tracker storage question

Featured Replies

I have a 92 bass tracker and it does not have a rod locker...It has something you can slide rods up into but even my 6'8 rod will not slide up in there... My question is has any one ever ripped apart the front of a bass tracker and restructured it? I have tried pulling the carpet up a little bit to see how the structure is laid out but cannot see enough.... Does anyone know how I can find out how it is laid out? I am wanting to put a rod locker on the left side and move all the bait storage to the right side...

I done just what you are thinking about doing on my skeeter. I would contack tracker boats and they can give you the layout of your boat and from their you can develope ideas as how to tackle your locker problem

Not sure Tracker would have that kind of info on hand for a boat that old.

I'm sure that at the very least there'd be some sort of structural bulkhead towards the front you'd have to deal with.

I wanted to do the same thing...but when I removed my deck to replace it...my 89 is filled with foam along each side and there would not be room for a rod locked without removing the foam.

I wanted to change my 2003 PRO-185 by installing a longer rod holder compartment and I spoke with the techs at the Tracker Service Center at the Hampton BPS and they said it was not advised.

There is a lot of foam in the Trackers and they suggested that it not be removed for the creation of additional storage.

So my suggestion to you is to call or meet with the Tracker Service Center techs and ask them for their input on what to do to create a rod holding compartment.

Let us know what you find out and what you decide to do.

Funny you mention that. I was at the Tracker place picking up my boat after the 20 hour service, and the Sales Manager asked me how I liked my PT170. I told him that I was disappointed in the lack of storage on the bow because of the foam. My uncles 1980's Tracker has gobs of storage! He said that the new coast guard regs require all of that foam, and it has to be there when it's sold, but that I can modify it in any way I want when I get it home. Don't know if that's the whole truth, but it's what he told me. For what it's worth...

Makes sense.

I have modified my Tracker so much that it is a very nice boat that I can get into really shallow places.

And is that an Auburn golf tee shirt?

Did you see the game against State this Saturday night?

Auburn really let me down.
