I moved to Statesboro a few months back and I'm looking to find some places to fish. I am not a college student, but they were doing work on the University's ponds and I'm sure they're unfishable right now; I'm not even sure they would let me fish there. I haven't fished in probably close to a year, if not a year. I'm jonesing to start back to fishing.

I'm from Claxton, GA, about 25 minutes from you.  Fort Stewart is about an hour from you and has 20+ ponds for 30 bucks a year.

The Ogeechee river is near you and has some decent fishing, you're probably not going to see much size, there was an atrocious fish kill about 5 years ago.

Magnolia Springs State Park is between you and Millen off 25.  I've never fished it.  There is also a pond in the Mill Creek park right there in Statesboro.
