Nylon Strp Hatch Pulls

Featured Replies

I noticed the nylon pull straps for the lids on my Nitro are starting to wear out and was wondering if anyone here knows where to buy replacement straps?  I've looked on line and at the local marine store but so far no luck.  I bought a nylon strap dog leash and will cut it into small pieces if I can't find the straps already pre cut and ready to screw in.  The problem with cuting the leash is the end will start to fray and need to be replaced frequently.  Thanks in advance for any help.  :(

Use a lighter or heat source to melt the end of the strap to prevent fraying.  While it is still molten use a rag to pinch and wipe the exes melt off for a more finished look.  Don't let the molten plastic drip on you.  It is more painfull than candle wax on the nipples.

I agree to heat the end with a lighter, and don't let it drip on you! :'(

these guys are right on the money i did this with the extra length of strap from my cover the straps in my nitro didnt last long in the fl sun

If you should have an electric soldering gun, you can use it to cut and seal the straps in one process.  I have done that a lot of times.
