I was wondering if anyone here uses this depth finder Humminbird HDR 610.  I thought about mounting this in the bottom of the boat when I redo carpet over Christmas break.

Just wondering if anyone has had luck getting accurate depth readings at say over 40 mph with it. That way I could keep my screen on full GPS and get depth with this.

    It sounds like you do not have the transducer mounted properly in/on your boat. Solve your improper installation and you won't need another unit for depth readings.
